Slate is the only dark option in this heavily set Day-Date reference, and it does something none of the others do. A dark ground turns every stone on the dial into a separate point rather than part of a field. The baguette bezel above it then reads as a continuous band by contrast with those separate points. That difference between the two settings is the whole reason to choose this dial over any of the others.

The 36 mm case is Everose Gold, with a bezel set with baguette-cut diamonds sitting above it. A slate dial carries diamonds in gold settings at the hours, with baguette-cut stones at six and nine. The day and the date appear in apertures at twelve and three, both with secure rapid-setting throughout.
