The fluted bezel is what separates the Datejust 126231 from the plainer Everose Datejusts, and it changes the whole read of the watch. Cut grooves catch light continuously instead of reflecting it back in one sheet, so the gold never sits still. Slate underneath keeps all that movement from taking over, which is the reason the combination works at all. Rolex paired it here with the flat Oyster bracelet rather than with the more expected Jubilee that usually accompanies it.
A fluted Everose Gold bezel sits over a Stainless Steel case measuring 36 mm across the middle. The slate dial carries applied hour markers, and the date at three sits under a Cyclops lens. Baton hands run across a sunray finish that darkens toward the edge of the dial. Three-piece solid links make up the Oyster bracelet with Everose Gold at the center, closing on a folding Oysterclasp.
