White against yellow gold is the sharpest contrast the two-tone Datejust offers, and it works in exactly the opposite direction from champagne. Where champagne blends into the bezel, white pushes against it and makes the gold read as a distinct band. On the 126203 that gives the watch a crispness that the warmer dials deliberately avoid having. Rolex has retired the reference, and this dial was among the steadier sellers it had throughout the whole production run.
The 36 mm case is Stainless Steel and carries a domed bezel cast entirely in Yellow Gold. A white dial holds applied hour markers, with the date at three sitting under a Cyclops lens. Baton hands cross a plain white ground, with no printed track running around its outer edge. The Jubilee bracelet sets Yellow Gold centers between Stainless Steel outer links, closing on a folding Oysterclasp with a comfort extension.
