The contrast is absolute, so the numerals read as gold objects on a dark ground rather than as markings. Nothing about the dial softens the bezel, which is unusual for a two-tone watch of this kind. Rolex has withdrawn the reference, and this was among the most severe of the dials it ever carried in production.

The 36 mm case is Stainless Steel and a domed Yellow Gold bezel sits directly above it. Applied Roman numerals in gold stand across a bright black dial, with the date magnified at three. Baton hands run over the dark ground, and no printed track encloses the outer edge of it. Five-piece Jubilee links pair Yellow Gold centers with Stainless Steel edges, closing on a folding Oysterclasp with a comfort extension.
