Neither round nor rectangular, it occupies a category Patek essentially invented and has never abandoned. The 5738 revives that heritage in its larger contemporary proportions, confirming the Ellipse’s place alongside the Calatrava and Nautilus as a pillar of the maison’s design language.

The rose gold case stretches the familiar ellipse to its larger modern dimensions while preserving its slimness, its bezel curving seamlessly into the softly rounded flanks. A deep ebony black dial with a sunburst finish anchors the design, set off by applied rose gold baton markers and slender matching hands.
