Reference 3738/100G-014

The Golden Ellipse is Patek Philippe's most mathematically resolved design — a case form derived from the golden ratio of 1:1.618, introduced in 1968 and unchanged in its essential proportions ever since. At 5.9mm thick, the 3738/100G stands as the thinnest watch in the entire Golden Ellipse range, its remarkably slim profile made possible by caliber 240's 2.53mm movement thickness — the same ultra-thin movement that powers the Calatrava 7200/50G. The olive green sunburst dial of this 2026 introduction is among the more unexpected colour choices in the Golden Ellipse's modern production history: a hue that reads as naturally organic rather than formally precious, lending the mathematical precision of the elliptical case an unexpected earthiness. Against white gold and cream-stitched strap, the olive green occupies a tonal space that distinguishes this reference clearly from all prior Golden Ellipse dial variants.

The white gold elliptical case measures 31.1×35.6mm with a solid case back, entirely polished, at just 5.9mm in height. The sunburst olive green dial on an 18K gold plate presents white gold applied baton-style hour markers and white gold cheveu-style hands — the fine, hair-like pointed profile characteristic of the Golden Ellipse. A shiny olive green calfskin strap with contrasting cream stitching and white gold prong buckle completes the reference. Caliber 240, ultra-thin self-winding with 22K gold off-center minirotor and Gyromax balance, powers the movement.
