This is the white gold counterpart to the pink butterfly, and the change of metal does more than change the colourway. Blue enamel against white gold reads cold and graphic, where pink against rose gold reads warm and decorative, and Patek Philippe treats the two as separate references rather than as options on one watch. The craft is identical and equally unforgiving: cloisonné on a symmetrical subject at this scale is among the most exacting work the Manufacture's enamel atelier undertakes, because the two wings must come out of the kiln identical.

The white gold case measures 38 mm with a plain bezel and no other ornament. The butterfly is executed in cloisonné enamel over gold, its blues built up across successive firings until the depth of tone is right. A self-winding movement shows hours and minutes only, leaving the image uncrossed. The watch is completed on an alligator strap. The 5077 is the enamel-dial Calatrava, a case used for no other purpose.
