Purple is a colour Patek has used rarely and never casually. Lacquered over an embossed ground it stops reading as a single shade and instead shifts with the pattern beneath, which is the only way a colour this assertive survives on a dress watch without dominating it.

The rose gold case measures 35 mm with a diamond bezel. The dial is embossed and lacquered purple with transfer-printed rose-gilt powdered hour-markers. The watch is completed on a hand-stitched calfskin strap. The rose-gilt markers are toned to the case rather than contrasted against the dial, so the metal reads as continuous from bezel to dial centre. It is the warmer of the two Calatrava references at this size.
