Embossing a dial and then lacquering over it means the pattern is read through the colour rather than on top of it, so a midnight blue that would otherwise be flat gains depth at every angle. Patek uses transfer-printed powdered markers here rather than applied ones, which keeps the surface unbroken.

The white gold case measures 35 mm with a diamond bezel. The dial is embossed and lacquered midnight blue with transfer-printed white-gilt powdered hour-markers. The watch is completed on a hand-stitched calfskin strap. At 35 mm this is among the smaller Calatrava cases, and the diamond bezel is what separates it from the plain references — the dial itself is treated with the same restraint Patek applies to the men's models.
