Setting a dial and leaving the case plain is the harder option, because the stones then have to live under the hands and around the apertures without crowding either. Journe used three hundred and twenty of them here, VVS in F to G, roughly a third of a carat between them. Platinum keeps the case cold against all that, so it reads less like a jewelry piece than the gold version and more like an Octa.

A platinum case at 36 mm, the only size this configuration was ever built in. Beneath the setting the dial is white gold and silver, and the stones are set across the field rather than gathered around at the edges. The hour and minute ring is still screwed down over the top, the small seconds still turn on their disc, and the moon still advances one notch when the date does.
