This F.P. Journe Élégante 40 is crafted in a 40 mm titanium case and styled with a brown rubber strap. Despite what may seem like an intimidating size, the flat tortue case design is only 7.95mm thick, allowing it to slip easily under a cuff with casual elegance. The circular whitened center of the dial is framed by an outer steel ring that complements the tone of the bezel.
What is particularly special about this reference is the standby mode, which continues to keep time even when the hands stop to conserve power. When the piece begins moving again, the hours, minutes, and small seconds automatically reset to the correct time. An exhibition case back provides a view of the beautiful Calibre 1210, revealing the intricate movements within.
