Tsavorite was named by Tiffany & Co. after Tsavo in Kenya, a piece of marketing that gave an unknown green garnet a name the trade would remember. It is greener than emerald and cleaner, and it has never escaped being the less famous stone regardless.
The white gold case measures 37 mm with a gem-set bezel. The white gold dial is set with baguette-cut tsavorites and carries white gold Royal Oak hands. The watch is completed on a white gold bracelet set with baguette-cut tsavorites with an AP folding clasp. Tsavorite is rarely found large enough to cut into baguettes at all, and at 37 mm the stones are smaller than on the larger reference, which is the only reason a set of this size is possible. Part of the Royal Oak collection.
