Chrysoberyl spent much of its history being confused with other stones — it was sold as chrysolite, as oriental topaz, and mistaken for peridot, and only mineralogy separated it properly. The yellow variety is the plainest form and the one least often cut for jewellery, which is what makes it unusual here.
The white gold case measures 37 mm with a gem-set bezel. The white gold dial is set with baguette-cut yellow chrysoberyls and carries white gold Royal Oak hands. The watch is completed on a white gold bracelet set with baguette-cut yellow chrysoberyls with an AP folding clasp. Yellow is the warmest stone in the 37 mm set and the only one that reads as gold against a white gold Royal Oak.
