Amethyst was priced alongside ruby and emerald until large Brazilian deposits were found in the nineteenth century and the market collapsed — one of the few gems whose value was destroyed by supply rather than fashion. At 37 mm the baguettes are smaller than on the 41 mm reference, which tightens the tolerance on colour matching.

The white gold case measures 37 mm with a gem-set bezel. The white gold dial is set with baguette-cut amethysts and carries white gold Royal Oak hands. The watch is completed on a white gold bracelet set with baguette-cut amethysts with an AP folding clasp.
